A viking longship was a type of ship used by the Norsemen during the Viking Age. These ships were used for trade, exploration, and warfare, and were some of the most advanced ships of their time. The longships were the key to the Viking's success as they allowed them to travel great distances and navigate through rough waters. We created a 2d cutout style animation that is 1.5 minute long with animated titlecards for the History Remade with Sabrina youtube series.

Making History with Sabrina is a 6-episode-long educational series produced by the History Channel, that focuses on recreating history's most iconic inventions with DIY methods and simple parts by Sabrina and her crew.

Our part in this collaboration was to create a cut-out style explainer animation insert within the live-action show to summarize the essence of what the episode is about and quickly show how it works and how it was invented.

This cut-out animation project was a fun and challenging one, as we had to create a fully animated episode from script to final delivery that ran ~1,5 minutes long in only two weeks, while attempting to give the viewer the same amount of information they would have gotten from watching the live-action counterpart.

We started off with only the voice over script and were tasked to ideate a cut-out animation to illustrate the narration. We had to be precise and timely to have revisions for each phase of the animation, but thankfully we had huge creative freedom, so rarely were there any hickups. The series was a huge success, and we were very happy to be a part of it.
